“One Word 2017 Cyber Retreat” is Here!

Welcome to “One Word 2017” Cyber Retreat   The Cyber Retreat is the next best thing to being there! You will have your own “One Word 2017 Retreat” with me on your own time and in your own space.  I will direct you through all of the steps. You will take action on each step to hear from God and discover YOUR ONE WORD for 2017!   Then we will create a mixed-media piece together by video! I also have a guest appearing with me, Sandi Chamberlain, a 2nd Grade teacher and amazing creative homemaker.  You can hang YOUR ONE WORD for 2017 in a special place to remind you for the whole year.  One Word can change your life! 2017 One Word

WOW!  2017 is Here! We enjoyed “One Word 2016” so much last year,  let’s do it again!!  I thought I would be gone in January, but I am here!  So let’s do it! Who is game to meet together at the beautiful Selah Among the Hills to “unplug” and get ready for 2017?! Did you know that 86% of adults make New Year Resolutions and 50% fail by the end of January? “One Word” is a radical idea to simplify and focus on just One Word that can change our lives for 2017!   We will take time to: Prepare our hearts by looking in. Discover our Word by looking up. Creativity in Haiti

I am way overdue for a post concerning my 3 week trip to Les Cayes, Haiti in June!  Part of my slowness was due to being just absolutely overwhelmed with all that happened, and the other part was the birth of my #6 granddaughter, my mother-in-law breaking her hip, and birth of #7 granddaughter! I don’t even know how to express it all, so just briefly:   I made such wonderful connections with such wonderful people!      Catherine who has the ministry with the Village Children Feeding Program and the Enrichment Program for the Street Boys. Alan who is so generous to provide a place for Catherine to stay and to have her ministry Megan with a Safe House Ministry Patrico who ministers to the Street Boys and has started a program to help the women of the village to have sustainable income, which is my heart too! Pierre who is leading youth to pursue business and entrepreneurship Levis, Alan’s manager of the gym, shopper, motorcyclist, and friend So many others who were so helpful and generous and hospitable I ran with the “Trash to Treasure” idea that I believe that God gave me and crammed as much teaching and art in as possible.  The street boys were so amazing, so precious, and so quick to learn!!  We learned how to make rope from plastic bottles and how to crochet with old clothes, t-shirts, and dyed string to make rugs/mats and bags/totes.  We also had a mixed-media paint and collage experience under a tree on the sand.  They got to experience mixing colors and just enjoying the play of...
